Washi-lined Envelopes

While I was coming up with project ideas for the coming Stationary Swap, I found some brown envelopes in my room. I opened each of them and used my favorite washi to line them :)

The plain envelopes looked like this:



You can easily open them using the cover of a pen or even the handle of a spoon.



I chose my favorite Hey Kessy washi designs and lined them starting from the flap crease.



I was on a roll and lined a whole pack of envelopes! Here are just four of 'em. Now, they look simple, but not boring, and of course, craftier!




I will definitely make more of these :p

98B's Future x Saturday Market

It was my first time to join 98B’s Future x Saturday Market last month. I am inspired by this group’s advocacy. Through fairs, film showings, artist residencies, art exhibits, and other art events, they aim to revive the beauty of Escolta and educate people, especially younger generations, on how it once was and what it can still continue to become now.

I shared a booth with my friends, Isa and Jamie, and sold washi tapes, twines, DIY journal kits, art prints, paintings, and postcards, and met a lot of fellow handmade supporters.

Brass and Silver Jewelry Workshop on August 4 :)

Join me and Alessa on August 4, Sunday, for an afternoon of bespoke jewelry making! I will teach you how to make your own brasslets and brass rings, and Alessa will guide you how to use silver clay to make jewelry pieces.

The fee is P3500, inclusive of brass jewelry making pack,  a 7g pack of silver clay, one (1) silver chain necklace, mini jewelry box, and afternoon snacks.

Feature: Yummy Magazine July Issue

This is, by far, one of my most favorite write-ups on my stoneware plates. I like how all the important experiences that have shaped me into a potter have been beautifully put into words - there's my solo trip to Sagada for the whole of last summer to focus on wheel throwing;  my travel back home by public bus with 4 kilos of Sagada clay in tow;  and the group exhibit at Pinto Gallery I joined last December for which I will forever be thankful to my good friends, Iona and Pao. 

Equally important is the mention of all my pottery teachers and several mentors  (Hi Mia Casal, auntie Sigried Bangyay, auntie Tessie Baldo, and of course mommy ♡).

Thanks Kristine and Yummy Magazine for giving me this opportunity to share my love for pottery.

Washi + Papercutting Workshop at Tea Please

Tea Please hosted the first batch of our Washi + Papercutting Workshop in June! :)









Jemay, Cassandra, Kat, Osean, Charmaine, Cherick, Shellanie, and I enjoyed making papercuts while having snacks! The shop serves the best sylvanas!

Papercutting + Bookbinding Workshop on July 28

Hello! :)

Our next workshop will be on Papercutting and Bookbinding! It is a collaboration with Isa, who will be teaching the participants how to make their own notebooks or journals using the method of perfect binding. As for me, I'll teach them how to make papercuts that they can use to decorate the covers of their notebooks.

The fee is only P1700,  inclusive of all the materials you need to make notebooks/journals, papercut artworks, practice sheets, templates, personalized cutting mat, frame, and a roll of Hey Kessy washi tape. We'll also provide yummy snacks.

For the Rainy Days Ahead

It's the start of the rainy season again, and along with the gentle or strong rainfall come the cool, soothing winds and sleepy eyes.

Warm mugs and hugs!

Suddenly you're craving for the comfort of your bed - the sheets against your skin, the warmth underneath your blanket, a soft pillow to catch you as you close your eyes and fall asleep.

But you're really in the office, or in school, or some place that is not your bedroom. And it's funny because you welcome the cold weather, but you long for warmth at the same time. So you go for the next best thing: a hot drink.

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk. Paper cups are OK, but you want mugs because you can wrap your hands tight around them like a hug and it won't break.

You take a sip, slowly because it's hot. From your lips the warmth flows down to you chest and spreads like any good feeling.

Sometimes you just want to hug that mug.
