Let's Be Makers Craft Gathering at the Hey Kessy Studio

In 2011, we joined our very first art fair. With only one product, washi tape, less than 30 designs, and a simple 2ftx2ft table, Paul and I went to 10a Alabama to introduce the product to fellow crafters. That's where it all started. Who would have thought we'd open our own physical shop three years after!

It has only been a month since the opening and yet I've already learned a lot as a craftpreneur. There are new challenges and benefits, but at the end of the day I can't believe how Hey Kessy has grown, and it makes me really happy. As we continue to make more art and craft materials readily available to local crafters and makers, we hope that the Handmade Movement in the country will continue to thrive.

Last weekend, we celebrated by having craft friends and fellow craftpreneurs over and do what we do best - make! Fifteen lovely ladies came over to spend their Sunday afternoon painting clay plates and tags over yummy picnic food at the studio.

I was so excited to see their works knowing these ladies were talented and whose works I personally admired. We also exchanged stories and tips on managing a craft business, dealing with clients, etc. It is always comforting knowing that there are also other people who have the same experiences that we have as craft business owners. I hope that through events like this, we can build an encouraging and supportive community of craftpreneurs.

It wouldn't be a gathering without yummy food, right? Thanks to Macy's Fields for the cookies and mini kahlua cupcakes. I also shared with them my favorite snacks from Pipino, veggie triangles and cauliflower pops!

And of course, to our sponsors, A Vanilla Story for the Vanilla alcohol and bug spray giveaways and Teatox Philippines for the tea samplers! You made us all very happy and giddy crafters! Thank you!
