Happy new year everyone! We'd like to start 2013 with a big thanks to everyone who supported Hey Kessy, our washi tape and other products throughout the past year. To extend our gratitude, we'll be putting in this free postcard in all orders for the month of January.
The lovely illustration was made by our favorite illustrator/graphic designer - Paul Imbong. Impromptu interview!
Hey Kessy: Hi Paul! Tell us something about your illustration.
Paul: Well, I was originally going for a Christmas look since this was done this past December, but it made better sense to create something that could be relevant even after the Christmas season and the new year celebrations.
The end of the year is always a good time for everyone to be thankful for the blessings and experiences of the past, and the image of the heart is always a good way to illustrate this - the heart being the source of both giving and gratitude.
Hey Kessy: I think that fits the message quite well. Is that supposed to be "Kessy" making the heart symbol?
Paul: Yup! And she's wearing the dress she got for Christmas. Bigay ng ninang nya!
Hey Kessy: Thanks, ninang! (Buti nagkasya.) Thank you also to you for this nice work of art. Will you do more illustrations for us in the future?
Paul: Hmm, maybe… Maybe if I get some free washi tape. Haha.
Hey Kessy: Done!
Paul: And food. And some-
Hey Kessy: Thanks, Paul! By the way, do you have a blog that people can follow?
Paul: I'm still working on the blog, but it'll be up soon. Watch out for that! I've been wanting to do more illustrations lately, so that would be the perfect venue to share it with you guys.
Hey Kessy: Great! Let us know when it's up and running.
Paul: Will do!
It's Kessy giving out hearts to you, our crafter friends! :) |
