A lot of us look forward to tons of free candy and wacky/scary/cute costumes, but nobody can be more excited about October 31st than the real monsters.
It's probably the only day, or night, of the year when they can go out of their lairs and be "normal". What makes Halloween special is they can all go as a family! The white lady can take a break from scaring and gets to roam the streets freely with her husband, vampires won't have to worry about people staring at their fangs, and the undead can go out for a leisurely stroll.
Monsters and ghosts actually call that day "Helloween" because it's the one time they can be friendly with us while they enjoy our company.
And they get free candies! Vampires have an insatiable sweet tooth that go with their fangs.
