Father’s Day is coming up! What sort of things do you associate with your dad? For Hey Kessy intern Gianne, she thinks of coffee mugs, watches, suits and ties, among other things. Using shrink art sheets, she made these little trinkets of all the things that remind her of her dad.
You can even use them as gift toppers...look!
Happy Father's Day!
Shrink art is such a fun and easy way to make small gifts. You can use it to create a variety of things, such as jewelry, charms, bookmarks, or keychains. Here’s a simple project that you can make to show your appreciation to your dad!

Shrink art key chains!
MATERIALS and TOOLS:
- Shrink art (available at the Hey Kessy shop)
- Markers
- Scissors
- Toaster Oven
- Mittens (for safety)
STEPS:
- Draw your dad's favorite things on a shrink art sheet. You can use markers or paint. Make sure that it's 60% bigger than the size of the keychain that you want. Remember, it's going to shrink!
- Cut out the pieces, make sure that there's an allowance around your drawing, and punch a hole for the key ring.
- Bake them in the oven for 2-3 minutes. They will curl (don't panic!) and flatten. Take them out when they're flat already.
- Let them cool down before hanging your dad's keys.
You can even use them as gift toppers...look!
Happy Father's Day!
