Wear Washi: Earrings

I am happy I got to sit down, gather my washi tapes, and turn a month-old jewelry idea to this:

I wanted to make a pair of earrings for each washi design but did not have enough jewelry mountings. Hopefully, I’d be able to experiment with other materials so I can sell them thru the shop ;p

Washi Tapes + Hand-carved Stamps = Awesome Gift Wrapper

Handmade all the way!

Last week, just before our Rubbercut Crafternoon, I hand-carved a "Handmade" stamp to make my own gift wrapper. Our new washi tape, the brown and blue collage designs, made it even more beautiful ;)

With abaca string

Because I can't wait to give out handmade gifts this Christmas, I'll be designing more gift wrappers and who knows, they might be available on our online shop soon ;p

Hey Kessy's Craft Buddies: Koni and Eve & Co

1. Yummy washi, happy tummy! :) Koni is one of the talented crafters I met during the last 10a Alabama Fair. She used our tapes to make these goodies even more delish!

2. I've always admired how our friends from Eve & Co Floral and Event Styling, Meg and Raphi, conceptualize themes and decorate event venues. Back in July, they used our washi tapes in a school themed wedding! :)

PS Photos belong to the respective crafters. Thank you, Koni and Eve & Co for sharing your talent!

PPS If you have DIY washi projects, please email 'em to us at contact@heykessy.com :)

Gigi Grassland

1. Something my cute and talented crafter friend, Wina, made for me. Can’t wait to hit the beach and wear it! ☼

2. Tried to "hone" my non existent calligraphy skills with Aaron and Wina before going to work yesterday. I'm not really a fan of sweets but Gigi serves heavenly cupcakes! Plus, they have a plastic grass carpet :p

3. To clean the nibs

Washi Tape Packaging

For the 2nd Craft Soiree, I gave out kits which contained stickers, brass rings, postcards, and of course my new found craft love, rubbercut prints, to fellow crafters and makers. As for the packaging, I bought white envelopes and a set of borrower's cards.

At first, I did not know what to do to make them arsty presentable. Then, I figured my rubbercut stamps and washi tapes would do the magic!

I couldn't be happier when I saw that our new washi tape designs went really well with the rubber stamps I made! :) With just short strips of washi, everything really turns pretty. ☼

Another crafter, Lorra of Stars for Dreams, gave me some rubbercut prints too! And look,  she also used our washi tapes! :)

Thanks for sharing this photo, Lorra!
